About the Authors

Ingrid E. Newkirk is the founder/president of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), the largest animal-rights organization in the world. She has appeared on the Today show, Oprah, Nightline, Crossfire, 20/20, on radio, and in every newspaper and periodical from People to Forbes and the Washington Post. She has also recently been the subject of an HBO special of her like entitled I Am An Animal. A deputy sheriff in Maryland for many years, she is the author of numerous books and articles on practical guides to helping animals and the social implications of our treatment of other species. She lives in Norfolk, VA.

Jane Radcliffe is a novelist and freelance writer. She has her M.F.A. from Columbia University and currently teaches creative writing in Ann Arbor, MI.
